Alzheimer’s is an irreversible and progressive brain disorder in which there is slow loss of memory as well thinking capacity of the individual suffering from it. It also affects the ability of the person to carry out simplest task correctly.
It is the most common type of dementia seen in the geriatric population.
Even though this is a disorder related to the brain, nutrition has a major role to play here as well.
The major goal in these individuals is to prevent the progression of disease and nutrition does exactly that, it helps in reducing the chances of disease progression. Here are the list of nutrients and their role in preventing/slowing the progression of disease.
Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin. Vitamin D has many health benefits in combating non-skeletal and age-related disorders along with its main function of strengthening the bones. 3. OMEGA-3 FATTY ACID
Omega-3 fatty acid has the ability to reduce irritability seen in these patients. Omega-3 acts as anti-depressant in these individuals. As there are increased incidences of both irritability as well as depression, omega-3 can be very helpful.

These were the major nutrients that helps in Alzheimer’s disease.
But I would like to add a main point here which helps people with Alzheimer’s disease the most, that is ‘Support’.
Mental as well as physical support from family helps these people the most. There have been positive results seen in their condition when there was positive family support with these patients.
